2018 Otago Championship

The 126th Otago Championship shoot was held at the Oamaru range on the weekend of 3rd and 4th March 2018. Lower numbers turned out for the shoot, but those attending had a good weekend.

Saturday morning start was delayed with fog in the valley. But after a half hour wait it lifted enough for the marksmen and women to make a start and when the targets were changed for the 500 yard shoot, this was again delayed for about fifteen minutes as the fog briefly came back in again. We had patches of heat when the fog opened up and were glad when it came back at a higher level to cool things a little. There was very little wind all day.

On Sunday we were able to start on time with clear skies and a light breeze which didn't do anything to cool things as it turned out being hot. Everyone was able to get away early which gave those who traveled some distance, time to get back home without being too late. A good time had by all.
